⚠️ Rip Current Safety - CRITICAL!

Rip currents are the #1 hazard at beaches

If caught in a rip current:

  1. DON'T panic - stay calm and conserve energy
  2. DON'T swim against the current - you'll tire quickly
  3. Swim PARALLEL to shore until out of the current
  4. Once free, swim diagonally toward shore
  5. If you can't escape, float or tread water and wave for help

How to spot a rip current: Look for churning, choppy water, a line of foam/seaweed moving seaward, or a break in the wave pattern.
